Each wikispace in the North Penn School District is required to be free of ads. This video offers instructions for creating an ad-free wiki.

How to MAKE a NEW SPACE and Request a Complimentary Upgrade to Plus for K-12 Education

Educators can create ad-free Wikispaces sites, which can be made private, for use in the classroom.

The video shows how to create a new wiki for educational use, but you can also request an upgrade to an existing wiki. This is a great feature for classroom use because a teacher can make the wiki private, so that only members can see the content.
1) To request your free K-12 Education upgrade, go to "Manage Wiki."
2) Under settings, click on "Subscription."
3) Scroll to the bottom of the page and click "Request a complimentary upgrade to Plus for K-12 education."

OR

1) To request your free K-12 Education upgrade, scroll to the bottom of your home page screen.
2) Click the word UPGRADE.
3) Scroll to the bottom of the next screen and click the Request complimentary K-12 Education wiki upgrade.
4) On the next screen, check off "I certify..." and click the REQUEST button.

Wikispaces will do the rest for you. You will receive a notice that your wiki has been upgraded.

This regulation describes the requirements for the use of current web-based tools for all categories
of employees and students. It is supported by Board Policy #6167 Internet Safety Policy which
defines the appropriate use of the Internet and all associated tools in an academic setting.
This regulation is intended to provide staff and students with guidelines for the use of current webbased
tools and specifically addresses the following:
• Wiki – Students and staff should use wikis for purposeful activities that are aligned with the
curriculum. Students and staff should use the wiki function that is provided in Moodle or
Wikispaces® application. No other wiki application will be permitted or supported by the
NPSD technology staff. Wikis should be password protected and all student work should be
reviewed by the teacher.
